System requirements

My First Piano runs on Windows computers. A digital piano or keyboard with a USB cable is the best way to use it, but not a must.

Which pianos and keyboards work?

Any digital piano or keyboard that Windows sees as a USB MIDI device. Most digital pianos with a USB “to Host” port work with no extra driver: plug in the cable, turn the piano on, and the app finds it. We tested it with the Williams Overture.

No piano yet?

You can still try everything: click the keys on the screen, or use the computer keyboard (A S D F G H J play C D E F G A B).

What it does not run on

Windows 7 and 8, macOS, Linux, Chromebooks, and phones or tablets (iOS and Android). The Windows app is made for Windows 10 and 11 computers and tablets. For Chromebooks, Mac and Linux there is a version that runs in Chrome or Edge: see Chromebook and browser.

Free and Pro

The Free edition has everything for learning with the core songs. The Pro edition adds the full library, your own songs, recording, importing and the sheet-music reader, which is why it is larger and likes more memory. See My First Piano for the full comparison.
