My piano is not detected

  1. Connect the piano to the computer with its USB cable and turn the piano on before you open the app.
  2. Open Connect my piano in the app and choose your piano from the list.
  3. Press a key. If the key lights up on screen, you are connected.
  4. Still nothing? Try another USB port or cable, close other music programs that may be using the piano, and restart the app.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes the core learning songs, falling notes, colors and note names, and the keyboard guide. Pro adds the full music library, adding and creating your own songs, recording, importing files, sheet-music reading and advanced practice tools. See the My First Piano page.

Can I move my progress and songs from Free to Pro?

Yes. In My First Piano Free open Settings → Players and saved profiles and choose Save to a file for the player you want to keep. Then, in My First Piano Pro, open the same place and choose Load a saved profile. A new player is added with the same progress and settings; nothing is replaced. The same file also works to move a player to another computer.

How do I change the language?

Open Settings → Language and choose English, Español or Português. The app starts again in the language you chose. The first time, it uses the language of Windows.

Can more than one person use the app?

Yes. Each person can be their own player with their own progress, songs and settings. Open Settings → Players and saved profiles, or click the player’s picture at the top of the app.

Can I print a progress report?

Yes. Open My progress and choose Save progress report (PDF). Type the student’s name and, if you like, a teacher or school and a comment, then choose where to save the PDF. Open it in any PDF viewer to print it or to send it to a teacher or family. It works in both Free and Pro, and the numbers can also be saved as a spreadsheet. See Progress reports for teachers and families.

How do I remove the app?

Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find My First Piano, and choose Uninstall. This also removes the settings, progress and songs the app saved on your computer.
